Here is my initial review and after doing it again
this morning, I have no doubt that this is by far the best basic
live tape to date, at least in my opinion. As my daughter would
say, "this tape is the bomb!" There are so many new
combinations in this tape, that my head is still spinning.
I'm definitely still on a high as I write this review.
The first 9 minutes is pretty much routine. The
tape starts off with a 3 1/2 minute warm-up and
proceeds to some standard across the body punches in
a horse stance. Then he moves on to a left hook, right
hook combination, which is followed by a left
uppercut, right uppercut combination. He then settles
into uppercuts in a horse stance, which turns
into double uppercuts. Five minutes into
the tape Billy moves into alternating knee raises and
then settles into a two part knee raise combination that
is in BL#6. This combination just kills my thighs.
He then moves on to speed bag work
in a horse stance, which then moves into speed bag work from
side to side, with only your upper body moving. A knee
raise, punch combination is next, first to the right
and then to the left. Then Billy moves on to the double
knee raise, right front kick, left front kick, jumping jack combination. This
is where most of the familiar moves end. The majority of the
combinations from this point on are new.
Billy adds a twist to the famous leg out to side
killer. He starts off with a right leg to the side for a few
reps. Then he spices things up, right leg to side and left side
kick. After he is done with the right side, he moves on to the
left side and repeats this combination. Billy then adds
a new twist to the V-step. He does a V-step
and instead of clapping his hands, he puts his hands straight
up in the sky. The music during this combination really makes
this move a lot of fun. Next combination has you moving
side to side across the room. First, it's a jab, jab,
roundhouse kick, roundhouse kick to the right side of
the room, then you repeat the combination to the left side of
the room.
From this point on his kicking combinations are
very different. You will definitely have to rewind the tape to
learn the new kicking combinations, but they are absolutely a
blast to do. His first kicking combination is, jumping
jack, roundhouse kick to the right, roundhouse kick to
the left. He then moves on to jumping jack, right front
kick, left front kick, right roundhouse kick, left roundhouse
kick. Next combination is a jab, jab,
kick, kick. My notes are a bit vague on this combination. Another
new kicking combination is in store for us. It's called a "four
corner kick" and again, lots of fun to do. It's
a right front kick, left front kick, right side kick, left side
kick, right back kick, left back kick. For the next 4 minutes
Billy takes you into some great punching combinations. Unfortunately,
he only works one side. I plan on rewinding the tape and repeat
this combination on my left side the next time I do this tape. The
majority of the punching combinations are new. He also has a new
triceps exercise in this sequence.
After this 4 minute session, Billy does another new
kicking combination. He starts off facing the left
wall. Right front kick, pivots into a left
roundhouse kick and ends with a right back
kick, left back kick. Again, you'll have to rewind
the tape to learn this new combination. Billy then moves
on to some balancing kicks. He also does some machine
gun kicks, before moving into a Tai Chi cooldown,
which is approx. 3 minutes long.
The songs in this tape are: Celebrate, Joy, Now
That We found Love, & Stomp. The soundtrack that has
been put together for this tape, rocks!!!! Stomp is an awesome
song and the energy level in this tape just soars. Billy even
sings during this song. Everyone is definitely having a great
time.
